Jakia March is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose practice bridges fine art, fashion, and cultural storytelling. A graduate of Moore College of Art & Design (BFA, 2008), she is the recipient of the 2024–25 Artist Fellowship at Moore College of Art & Design, the 2024 Shafrankski Foundation Residency, and presented her second solo exhibition at Shit Art Club, Los Angeles, in October 2024.
Her career spans over a decade of innovative contributions to both the art and fashion industries. March has designed and collaborated with leading brands including A.L.C., LaQuan Smith, Rachel Roy, Splendid, Carter’s, and Fabletics, most notably contributing designs to the 2023 Fabletics x Khloé Kardashian collection. She has also presented a sustainable capsule collection at New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 and earned recognition through the NYFW x NY Daily News Emerging Designer Competition with Harlem’s Fashion Row.
March’s fine art has been exhibited in solo and group shows in the United States and abroad, reflecting the influence of her extensive international research and residencies in cultural centers such as Paris, New York City, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. Her practice extends to film, with an IMDb credit for costume design and styling in the 2015 feature The Secret to Success: They Can No Longer Keep It from Us.
With a portfolio spanning painting, design, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, March continues to expand her impact through a practice rooted in innovation, cultural dialogue, and contemporary relevance.
